FESTIVAL DRUMS OF MOTO-OGI

We were driving around the island on this quiet saturday, when suddenly after a quick turn, Shogo had a stunned expression on his face - "how lucky you are" he said. The Kodo company musician was enough familiar with the island of Sado to know this is a rare thing to happen - the once-a-year procession in the village of Moto-Ogi, wishing good spirits and fortunes to all the neighbors around. We stopped, got out of the car, followed the procession for a little while. Here's a short impromptu film, in the purest tradition of 'direct cinema'.
